Nikola Story
The idea for Nikola began with a flash of insight on a weekend rollerblade ride. While training for bike races, founder Nick Stevovich realized he was engaging powerful muscle groups he never used on the bike. That simple observation of cycling leaves untapped power on the table sparked a mission to unlock hidden strength, maximize performance, and transform every ride.
Nikola is the first pedal system engineered to recruit the body’s full range of leg muscles while reducing joint stress. This patented platform pairs with imbedded sensors and machine-learning coaching app, giving cyclists real-time data and personalized training guidance. The result: greater power output, measurable performance gains, and relief for chronic knee, hip, and IT-band pain.
The market is substantial and underserved: more than 40 million U.S. cyclists seek either competitive advantage or pain-free mileage. No existing pedal addresses these needs with Nikola’s combination of biomechanical innovation and intelligent software.
Our proof points are strong. Three clinical studies by Cleveland State University, Alleghany General Hospital, and Gonzaga University including one published in a leading medical journal—validate our performance and injury-prevention claims. Four limited production runs generated exceptional rider feedback, confirming market demand and scalability.
Nikola is backed by a team of investors and led by a seasoned team with deep expertise in product design. Our vision is to redefine how cyclists train and recover, extending from road and triathlon into indoor fitness and connected cycling platforms worldwide.
