Frequently Asked Questions
About the NI Flow
What makes the NI Flow different from other clipless pedals?
Most clipless pedals lock your foot into a rigid circular path. The NI Flow uses Flow Motion — a patented elliptical pedaling system that lets your joints move naturally instead of forcing them through the same repetitive arc. The result: less joint stress and more power, backed by clinical testing across 3 universities with 2,000+ cyclists.
Is it hard to learn or adjust to?
No. The most common reaction from test riders is "it feels natural." There's no learning curve. You clip in and ride like you normally would — the pedal does the rest.
Will I lose power with these pedals?
The opposite. Clinical studies showed riders produced up to 7% greater peak power and 2% improved pedaling efficiency. Flow Motion distributes load across more muscle groups, so your body produces more force with less strain.
Will these help with knee pain?
That's exactly why we built them. Over 13 million cyclists in the US experience knee pain from the repetitive circular motion of traditional pedals. Flow Motion introduces controlled elliptical movement that reduces the concentrated stress on your knees, hips, and IT band. Over 70% of tested riders saw measurable improvement in joint stress reduction.
Compatibility & Specs
Will the NI Flow fit my bike?
Yes. The pedals use standard 9/16 x 20 tpi threading found on virtually all road bikes. Right and left pedals have different thread directions — check the installation guide before mounting.
What cleats do I need?
The NI Flow uses the Look KEO 3-bolt cleat standard. If you're currently riding Look or any Look-compatible pedals, your existing shoes and cleats work with the NI Flow.
What are the pedals made of?
Stainless steel construction throughout. Built for durability and long-term reliability. Weight is competitive with Shimano Ultegra pedals. Made in Ohio, USA.
Do I need to adjust my saddle height?
No. We tested over 250 riders in lab settings and maintained their preferred saddle positions. No adjustment needed, though as always, personal preference may vary.

Care & Maintenance
Do the pedals need special maintenance?
No. The pedals use high-quality bushings designed for demanding environments. A wiper sleeve on the inner side acts as a secondary cleaning system. For heavy dirt or mud, wipe down with a damp cloth. The bushings are guaranteed for the life of the pedal.
